Qatar Airways is in the final stages of securing a deal to purchase approximately 100 widebody jets from Boeing, with an option to acquire additional aircraft. This information comes from a report by Bloomberg News, which cites sources familiar with the negotiations.

The announcement regarding the deal is anticipated during U.S. President Donald Trump’s upcoming trip to the Middle East, scheduled to begin next week. This trip will include visits to Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates, and is expected to result in significant investments in the aerospace and defense sectors.
Bloomberg’s report indicates that several leading airlines in the Middle East are eager to finalize major agreements before President Trump’s visit. Qatar Airways is reportedly finalizing the details of its order for the Boeing widebody jets, having benefitted from a growing travel market that connects numerous international destinations through its hub in Doha.
Additionally, last month, Reuters reported that President Trump is likely to propose an arms package to Saudi Arabia worth over $100 billion. Both Qatar Airways and Boeing have yet to provide comments on the matter, as noted by Reuters.
