US Tariffs Have “No Negative Impact” on Dubai International Airport, Says CEO Paul Griffiths

The recent introduction of sweeping new US tariffs has not had a “negative impact” on Dubai International Airport (DXB), according to the airport’s CEO, Paul Griffiths. He noted, however, that due to the “volatility of the situation,” it is still too early to draw firm conclusions.

Griffiths emphasized DXB’s resilience, stating that interruptions in demand from one market are often balanced by increased demand from another. He remarked that this trend has been consistent at DXB.

In an interview with Dubai Eye 103.8’s Business Breakfast show, Griffiths mentioned that one airline is experiencing results contrary to expectations regarding the tariffs. Adnan Kazim, Chief Commercial Officer at Emirates Airline, confirmed that the airline is closely monitoring the situation but has not yet identified any significant impact resulting from tariff-related tensions.

Despite their current observations, both Griffiths and Kazim acknowledged the uncertainty surrounding future developments. They agreed that, with the fast-evolving global situation, it remains too early to predict the long-term effects on the aviation industry.
