Veeam® Software, recognized as the leading provider in Data Resilience, has announced the launch of its latest product, Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft Entra ID. This new Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solution aims to simplify the protection of organizations’ digital identities, particularly as Entra ID, previously known as Azure AD, faces over 600 million attack attempts daily. The new service is designed to ensure that organizations can safeguard their essential assets.

The introduction of support for Entra ID is a significant enhancement to the existing Veeam Data Cloud platform, which is known for its powerful and user-friendly features. The platform combines modern cloud-native technologies with AI to manage, secure, and protect data both on-premises and in the cloud. This integration is intended to improve business continuity and operational efficiency while ensuring ease of use.
As reported by ZAWYA, Niraj Tolia, Chief Technology Officer at Veeam, emphasized the importance of user management in security, stating that protecting Entra ID is crucial. He noted that the new solution offers customers a pre-configured, enterprise-ready system that alleviates the challenges of managing complex backup infrastructures.
The Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft Entra ID not only addresses cybersecurity threats but also handles compliance needs, accidental deletions, and policy misconfigurations. It provides comprehensive backup and recovery options for Entra ID users, groups, application registrations, and other objects. This service includes unlimited storage and a unified user interface, allowing organizations to maintain data resilience and recover quickly from any issues affecting Entra ID.
Key features of this new service include proactive protection, which enhances visibility and control over changes within Entra ID, and effortless recovery options that enable quick restoration of various Entra ID components. Additionally, the service offers managed backup solutions, relieving users of the burden of maintenance and security updates.
Krista Case, Research Director at The Futurum Group, highlighted the increasing importance of protecting Microsoft Entra ID, noting that one in five respondents in their Cybersecurity Decision Maker IQ research identified credential compromise as a significant security concern. Veeam is committed to making resilience accessible, providing managed and hosted solutions that include visibility into potential malicious activity.
Veeam Data Cloud also allows businesses to protect Microsoft 365 workloads. Existing customers can bundle the new Entra ID protection with their current Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft 365 plans, ensuring they only pay for what they use.
Customers can manage all workloads through a single interface, benefiting from advanced security features, reduced complexity, and streamlined reporting. Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft Entra ID is now available, and more information can be found on Veeam’s website.
