At the Global Leadership Forum held in Madrid, Spain, His Excellency Eng. Maysarah Mahmoud Eid, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Projects and Infrastructure Centre (ADPIC), presented Abu Dhabi’s strategic approach to infrastructure development. The event, organized by the International Federation of Consulting Engineers (FIDIC), highlighted the essential role of infrastructure in achieving the social, economic, and environmental goals of Abu Dhabi. Eng. Eid emphasized the commitment to fostering global collaboration and sustainable innovation in infrastructure projects.

During his address, Eng. Eid outlined Abu Dhabi’s dedication to improving livability and creating vibrant communities through strategic infrastructure investments, which include Public-Private Partnerships. He stressed the importance of ensuring access to essential services, attracting new industries, and promoting innovation while prioritizing environmentally responsible practices and sustainable transport solutions.
“Abu Dhabi is committed to developing infrastructure that transcends immediate needs, focusing on creating a sustainable, diversified, and resilient foundation that delivers lasting value for generations,” stated Eng. Eid. He added that by embracing technology, sustainability, and collaboration, Abu Dhabi aims to tackle current challenges and create pioneering solutions that will shape the future of global infrastructure.
Eng. Eid further discussed ADPIC’s strategic approach to impactful, large-scale initiatives, emphasizing investments that enhance quality of life in housing, education, healthcare, and community spaces. He noted that ADPIC plays a vital role in economic diversification, focusing on both tourism projects and transportation initiatives that promote sustainable mobility. These projects aim to expand public transport accessibility and develop cycling networks, reinforcing Abu Dhabi’s position as a leader in sustainable urban development.
The Global Leadership Forum, organized by FIDIC, is an exclusive event attended by 100 senior infrastructure leaders. It serves as a platform for executives from various sectors, including government, finance, consulting engineering, and construction, to address critical challenges and opportunities in the global infrastructure community.
Established in 2023, the Abu Dhabi Projects and Infrastructure Centre (ADPIC) aims to oversee and manage capital projects that enhance the quality of life for all residents in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. This involves managing diverse projects in housing, infrastructure, tourism, community facilities, and education. ADPIC’s responsibilities include managing contracts, planning, and designing capital projects in collaboration with relevant entities and stakeholders to ensure quality and efficient project execution in line with Abu Dhabi’s strategic goals.
