The 4th Electric Vehicle Innovation Summit (EVIS) Abu Dhabi 2025 opened today at the ADNEC Centre, showcasing cutting-edge electric mobility solutions and global innovations. UAE leaders emphasized the importance of sustainability, the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs), and advancements in the circular economy.

The event, running until April 23, is hosted by ADNOC Distribution in partnership with the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure. It serves as the region’s leading platform for electric vehicle innovation and clean transportation, attracting senior officials, international delegates, and global industry leaders.
Eng. Sharif Al Olama, Undersecretary for Energy and Petroleum Affairs at the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, highlighted that EVIS 2025 is the most significant EV event in the MENA region. He noted the growing number of participating companies, which are eager to unveil groundbreaking advancements and connect with key decision-makers in sustainable mobility.
During the opening remarks, Al Olama stated, “The UAE has firmly placed sustainability at the heart of its national agenda.” He further explained that the country is committed to transforming energy consumption, with transport playing a crucial role in this transition. To facilitate the switch to electric vehicles, he mentioned the expansion of the charging network, which aims to eliminate range anxiety for EV owners through the launch of UAEV, a joint venture with Etihad Water and Electricity.
Al Olama also pointed out that the UAE ranked first in the Middle East in 2024 for the highest share of electric and hybrid vehicle sales, reaching nearly 26 percent. He projected that this trend could lead to a reduction of over 400 kilotons of carbon emissions from the transport sector by 2050. He emphasized that achieving green mobility targets requires strong public-private collaboration and innovative technologies.
In addition to various displays, Xpeng UAE is showcasing its air taxi, offering attendees a glimpse into the future of autonomous electric transport.
EVIS Abu Dhabi 2025 features several immersive experiences, including an EV Outdoor Test Drive Zone for attendees to try the latest electric vehicles, and an E-Circuit Zone for live-action demonstrations. The Charging Oasis showcases next-generation charging technologies, while the Market Gateway facilitates connections among industry leaders.
The conference program at EVIS includes influential speakers addressing vital topics in mobility, energy, and sustainability. Eng.
