BD Launches Training Center in Riyadh to Enhance Healthcare Education

BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company), a global leader in medical technology, has officially launched the BD Training Center in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This significant investment is aimed at empowering healthcare professionals by providing advanced education and fostering innovation, which aligns with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 and the National Healthcare Sector Transformation program.

The BD Training Center, located at BD’s Regional Headquarters, caters to a wide range of healthcare professionals, including pharmacists, nurses, lab technicians, doctors, surgeons, and phlebotomists. Its primary mission is to enhance healthcare delivery in the Kingdom by building intellectual capital and facilitating the transfer of institutional knowledge through BD’s global clinical and technical expertise.

Maher Elhassan, Vice President and General Manager of BD Middle East, North Africa, and Türkiye, emphasized that the Training Center represents a commitment to fostering innovation and collaboration in healthcare. He noted that it aims to equip healthcare professionals with the necessary tools to meet evolving challenges and improve patient outcomes.

In line with BD’s Signature Programmes, the center will offer a comprehensive portfolio of educational activities, including product training led by expert clinicians. It will also facilitate discussions on critical issues such as patient safety and antimicrobial resistance, and host CME-accredited workshops in partnership with scientific societies.

Omar Malabarey, Country General Manager of BD Saudi Arabia, described the Training Center as a transformative initiative for the healthcare sector, highlighting the importance of creating an environment where professionals can learn and adapt to changes in the medical field. He expressed eagerness to collaborate with stakeholders to advance patient care and safety.

The center will also tackle global healthcare challenges, including medication errors and healthcare-associated infections, by providing practical solutions and advanced training. This initiative supports Saudi Arabia’s healthcare innovations and contributes to achieving the goals of Vision 2030.

The World Health Organization reports that 1 in 10 patients experience harm due to safety lapses, with about 50% of such events being preventable. By utilizing innovative technologies and educational programs, healthcare systems can create safer environments for patients and providers alike.
