Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai, has announced a significant performance bonus for government civil servants amounting to Dh277 million. This announcement was made on Friday, March 21, and it highlights the government’s commitment to recognizing the hard work of its employees.

The approved bonus was endorsed by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. Sheikh Hamdan expressed his gratitude towards public sector employees, stating, “your dedication and commitment have been key to Dubai’s success, constantly raising excellence in government service.” He conveyed confidence that the continued efforts of these employees would enhance Dubai’s status on the global stage.
This is not the first instance of such a substantial bonus being awarded. In 2023, a bonus of Dh152 million was distributed among civilian government employees. A recent survey indicated that approximately 75 percent of UAE residents anticipate receiving a bonus in 2025, especially as high-growth sectors like technology, banking, healthcare, and consultancy provided significant bonuses in 2024, with some employees receiving payouts equivalent to six months’ salary.
