Ignite Energy Access is focused on developing and operating distributed solar solutions across sub-Saharan Africa, with a goal to provide clean electricity to millions by 2030. The partnership will also allow Ignite to introduce its advanced solar technologies to the UAE, where it plans to implement off-grid solar projects for rural communities and sustainable industries.

Ignite’s relocation to Abu Dhabi is expected to create over 200 high-skilled jobs in technology, finance, and supply chain sectors. The company is also committed to a knowledge transfer program, partnering with local universities to cultivate expertise through internships and specialized training. Furthermore, Ignite will collaborate with Abu Dhabi’s renewable energy sector, building on its previous engagements with organizations like IRENA and Masdar to contribute to the emirate’s energy transition goals.

H.E. Badr Al-Olama, Director General of ADIO, emphasized that strategic partnerships and advanced technologies are central to strengthening Abu Dhabi’s role as a hub for investments. He stated that the partnership with Ignite reinforces the emirate’s position in the energy transition, aiming to foster innovation and attract pioneering companies for sustainable investment.
