A big achievement of the trip was the signing of a strategic cooperation agreement between the Abu Dhabi government and the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government. This agreement encompasses various sectors, including trade, finance, technology, education, and tourism. The Foreign Affairs Office of the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government and ADDED will take the lead in implementing this agreement.

During their six-day visit, the delegation conducted numerous high-level meetings with Chinese officials and business leaders in major cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Hong Kong. Notable discussions took place with influential figures including Chen Jining, a Member of the Politburo and Party Secretary of Shanghai, and Yin Yong, the Mayor of Beijing. The delegation also explored opportunities with leading Chinese companies, including ByteDance, Xiaomi, BYD, and CICC.

Ahmed Jasim Al Zaabi, chairman of ADDED, expressed his satisfaction with the outcomes of the trip. He highlighted the importance of creating new opportunities in high-growth sectors and strengthening economic ties with China. He noted, “The impressive growth in bilateral trade and investments is a testament to our shared commitment to strategic cooperation.”

In addition to the strategic cooperation agreement, the visit resulted in further agreements with prominent Chinese firms such as Fosun International and Hejun Group, aimed at enhancing investment and economic relations. Moreover, the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ADCCI) signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Shanghai Federation of Industry and Commerce to promote bilateral trade and investment. B2B meetings at the Abu Dhabi-Shanghai Business Forum further reinforced business connections between the two regions.
