Megat Iskandar, the Trade Commissioner of Malaysia to the UAE, mentioned that Malaysia is concentrating on creating innovative and convenient food products. This year at Gulfood, Malaysia will showcase a diverse range of offerings, including ready-to-eat meals, spiced fish and chicken, traditional ethnic cuisine, as well as healthy and organic foods. Iskandar stated that they are also bringing several SMEs that are prepared to enter the global market.

According to Gulf news, Dr. Dhananjay Datar, Chairman and Managing Director of Adil Group of Supermarkets, highlighted the impact of younger generations on food consumption trends. He explained that these consumers prefer healthier, convenient, and globally-inspired food options. In response, Adil Group has adapted its sourcing to include a wider variety of organic and plant-based products, along with ready-to-eat meal solutions. Datar emphasized their commitment to stay ahead of food trends while retaining authentic flavors.

Rajiv Warrier, CEO of Choithrams GCC, discussed the increasing demand for convenience and how it has shaped their business strategy. Choithrams has introduced a network of convenience-format stores to provide customers with easy access to fresh groceries and daily essentials. Their offerings now include ready-to-eat meals, pre-packaged snacks, and time-saving ingredients, supported by an enhanced e-commerce platform for quick delivery.

Kamal Vachani, Group Director and Partner of Al Maya Group, shared the initiatives they have implemented to improve consumer convenience. They offer ready-to-eat meals targeting busy individuals, expanded free delivery services, and optimized in-store experiences. At Gulfood 2025, Al Maya plans to showcase innovative product lines that highlight their commitment to quality and sustainability while enhancing convenience for customers.

As the UAE’s food and beverage sector evolves, companies are strategically positioning themselves to meet the demands of modern consumers, leveraging platforms like Gulfood to strengthen relationships and showcase their innovations.
