UAE Secures Dh3.97 Billion in Defense Contracts at IDEX

The United Arab Emirates has signed 13 significant deals valued at Dh3.97 billion during the International Defence Exhibition (IDEX). Among these, nine local contracts amounted to Dh3.8 billion, while four international agreements totaled Dh143.4 million

Notable local agreements include a contract worth Dh1.8 billion with Calidus Land Systems for the purchase of Multitasking MATV 4 by 4 vehicles. Additionally, Thales Emarate Technologies secured a contract valued at Dh110.5 million to supply spare parts, materials, and provide maintenance and technical support.

On the international front, a key deal was made with German company Rheinmetall, which is set to provide technical support services, maintenance repair, spare parts, and tactical engagement systems for Dh71.8 million. Furthermore, there was a Dh21 million contract with Finland’s Patria Land Systems for technical support, repairs, and the supply of spare parts for their machinery.

Saeed Al Mansouri, a Defence events and shows specialist at ADNEC, emphasized that most of the deals were signed with local producers, showcasing their ability to meet the needs of the Ministry of Defence. He noted that these contracts significantly enhance the UAE’s defense infrastructure.

Al Mansouri also highlighted that the deals with foreign companies were tailored to address the specific needs of the Armed Forces, particularly concerning spare parts and new products required by the Ministry. These agreements play a vital role in supporting the UAE’s defense capabilities.
