The Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, alongside the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICP), revealed that the initial phase will grant the Blue Visa to 20 sustainability leaders and innovators. These individuals are recognized for their efforts in environmental advocacy, both within the UAE and globally.
The Blue Visa extends the country’s Golden and Green Residency programs and targets a specific group of applicants. Eligible individuals include members of international organizations, NGOs, environmental activists, researchers, global award winners, and those affiliated with sustainability-focused companies. Interested candidates can apply directly through the ICP’s website or mobile app, or be nominated by authorized entities in the UAE.
Dr. Amna Bint Abdullah Al Dahak, Minister of Climate Change and Environment, highlighted the UAE’s commitment to sustainability, stating that the initiative aligns with the leadership’s vision of attracting top thinkers and innovators in the field. She explained that these efforts aim to achieve national sustainability goals and build a greener future.
Major General Suhail Saeed Al Khaili, Director-General of ICP, noted that the Blue Visa service is accessible 24/7 online, ensuring smooth and efficient application processes for eligible individuals.
This program reinforces the UAE’s position as a global leader in sustainability and environmental action, showcasing its dedication to creating a sustainable future.
