Dubai Media Incorporated (DMI), one of the UAE’s top media groups, has upgraded its broadcasting capabilities by introducing advanced 4K technology across its Outside Broadcast (OB) fleet. This includes the addition of a satellite-enabled OB van equipped with 14 ultra-high-definition 4K cameras and cutting-edge broadcasting tools.
The OB van, developed entirely in-house by DMI’s engineering teams, was completed in just three weeks. This new addition will debut during the 2025 World Government Summit, scheduled from February 11 to 13, where it will enhance live coverage and deliver an immersive viewing experience.
The van’s satellite integration allows for direct transmission from event locations to broadcast stations, ensuring smooth real-time content delivery. It features a fully operational control room, advanced audio-visual mixing systems, and strong communication networks for seamless coordination between on-ground teams and the main broadcast center.
DMI has also introduced robotic cameras adaptable for vehicles and helicopters. These cameras are designed to capture high-quality footage even in challenging conditions, making them ideal for covering events like horse racing, cycling, and endurance sports.
Saleh Lootah, Senior Vice President of Engineering & Operations at DMI, told *Emirates 24/7* that these advancements aim to enhance DMI’s content production and expand its global reach. He emphasized the organization’s focus on leveraging cutting-edge technologies and maintaining world-class standards in media services.
This initiative reflects DMI’s broader strategy to innovate and optimize audience engagement through superior broadcast quality while strengthening its position as a leading media group in the region.
