His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, visited the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI) in Masdar City, Abu Dhabi, to explore its progress in AI education and research. The visit included a tour of the university’s facilities, where His Highness was briefed on its academic programs, key research areas, and global partnerships in artificial intelligence studies.
During the visit, His Highness explored the university’s data observatory and was introduced to five research projects focused on AI applications in energy, climate, medicine, genetics, media, and robotics. He also met researchers and faculty members, along with representatives from two startups housed in the university’s Incubation and Entrepreneurship Center.
Sheikh Mohamed encouraged students and staff to continue their efforts in advancing knowledge to benefit their communities, emphasizing the university’s role in supporting the UAE’s vision of a diversified, knowledge-driven economy. He highlighted the importance of equipping national talent with expertise in AI to ensure a sustainable future for upcoming generations.
Professor Eric Xing, President of MBZUAI, shared that the university has achieved global recognition, ranking 10th worldwide in areas such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, and robotics. He credited the UAE leadership’s ongoing support for these achievements.
His Highness was joined on the tour by several UAE officials, including Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, among others.
The Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence continues to position the UAE as a global leader in advanced technology and innovation.
