According to Gulf News, educators are now eligible for the Golden Visa, with Dubai’s Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) introducing this category in October 2024. Teachers, principals, and higher education staff can qualify based on their contributions to advancing education, academic achievements, and innovation in their field. Ras Al Khaimah has also joined this initiative, recognizing the value of educators in private schools.

Gaming professionals are another group benefiting from the expansion. Dubai’s new ‘Dubai Gaming Visa,’ launched under the Dubai Programme for Gaming 2033, offers long-term residency to those in the gaming and e-sports sector. Applicants must be at least 25 years old and secure accreditation from Dubai Culture. Abu Dhabi is also supporting gaming talents through its Golden Visa programme, underlining the UAE’s goal to become a global hub for e-sports.

Luxury yacht owners can now apply for the Golden Visa under Abu Dhabi’s ‘Golden Quay’ initiative. This programme, introduced by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) and Yas Marina, targets private yacht owners with vessels over 40 metres, as well as executives and stakeholders in the yachting industry. Family members of nominees are also eligible for residency.

This expansion of the Golden Visa reflects the UAE’s strategy to foster innovation, attract global talent, and encourage investment across key sectors.
