During the visit, Prime Minister Luxon participated in a ceremony where he reviewed a guard of honor that had assembled to greet him. Following this, he laid flowers at the memorial located in front of the martyr’s monument, which pays tribute to those who have defended the UAE. He received a briefing about Wahat Al Karama, which symbolizes the bravery and sacrifices of Emirati nationals in protecting the nation’s achievements.
As reported by WAM, Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed highlighted the positive developments in the relationship between the UAE and New Zealand across various sectors, crediting the leadership of both nations for fostering this collaboration. He emphasized that Wahat Al Karama reflects the UAE leadership’s appreciation for the heroes who have sacrificed their lives for the country, embodying the values of heroism, courage, and sacrifice that resonate with Emirati generations. At the conclusion of his visit, Prime Minister Luxon expressed his gratitude for the UAE’s martyrs by writing a message in the Wahat Al Karama guestbook.
