The Finland Embassy in the UAE hosted a significant event on January 14, 2025, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the UAE and Finland. The celebration took place at the Bab Al Qasr Hotel in Abu Dhabi, marking a milestone in the friendship between the two nations.

During the event, Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo emphasized the strength and ongoing growth of the bilateral relations between Finland and the UAE. He pointed out the importance of collaboration and mutual respect that has developed over the past five decades.
Several prominent officials attended the event, including Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, the UAE’s Minister of Foreign Trade, and Tula Johanna Yrjölä, Finland’s Ambassador to the UAE. Other attendees included Amna Mahmoud Fikri, the UAE’s Ambassador to Finland, Omar Rashid Al Neyadi, Director of the European Affairs Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, along with various ambassadors from Arab and foreign countries, Finnish officials, business leaders, and members of the Finnish community residing in the UAE.
This gathering not only celebrated the past achievements of the UAE-Finland relationship but also looked forward to future cooperation in various sectors. The event provided a platform for dialogue and strengthened ties between the two countries, reinforcing their commitment to working together in the years to come.
