Ajman’s Department of Tourism Development (ATDD) has announced plans to host the Etihad Ajman Golf Championship on January 24 and 25. The event, sponsored by Etihad Water and Electricity (EtihadWE), aims to promote sports tourism in the emirate, while also encouraging community engagement and youth participation.
The announcement was made during a press conference at Al Zorah Golf Club, attended by key figures, including ATDD’s Director-General Mahmood Khaleel Alhashmi, EtihadWE CEO Yousef Al Ali, and Zorah Development CEO George Saad.
Alhashmi highlighted the importance of the championship, describing it as a step toward strengthening Ajman’s reputation as a leading destination for diverse tourism experiences. He noted that the event reflects the department’s commitment to using sports as a tool to empower youth and foster stronger community connections.
Al Ali emphasized EtihadWE’s dedication to supporting initiatives that align with its corporate social responsibility goals, stating that the partnership with ATDD demonstrates their commitment to community well-being and national progress.
The tournament will feature 120 skilled players from across the UAE, offering a competitive platform for golfers to showcase their talents and connect with fellow enthusiasts.
This championship is expected to reinforce Ajman’s position in the sports tourism sector, attracting both local and international visitors.
