Sharjah Council to Review Draft Corporate Tax Law

The Sharjah Consultative Council will hold its seventh session this Thursday to discuss a draft law on corporate tax for natural resources in the emirate. The meeting will take place at the Council’s headquarters under the leadership of its Chairman, Dr. Abdullah Belhaif Al Nuaimi.

The session will begin with the approval of the minutes from the previous meeting. The key focus will be on a report presented by the Financial, Economic, and Industrial Affairs Committee, which outlines the proposed corporate tax framework for both extractive and non-extractive natural resources.

Several senior officials will attend the session, including Sheikh Rashid bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Director of the Central Finance Department, and Dr. Falah Al Husseini, Tax Affairs Advisor, both representing the Sharjah Government’s Central Finance Department.

Other notable attendees include Dr. Eisa Saif bin Hanzal, Director of the Legal Department of the Sharjah Government; Hatem Mohamed Al Mousa, Director-General of the Department of Oil and CEO of SNOC (Sharjah National Oil Corporation); and Ismail Mohamed Noor, Executive Director of Financial and Administrative Affairs at SNOC.

The discussions aim to address the legislative framework and taxation policies for Sharjah’s natural resources sector.
