Khorfakkan Marine Festival Draws Over 70,000 Visitors

The second Khorfakkan Marine Festival concluded on January 5, 2025, after ten vibrant days of activities held from December 27, 2024, to January 5, 2025. Organised by the Sharjah International Marine Sports Club (SIMSC), the event attracted more than 70,000 visitors, offering a unique blend of maritime heritage, culture, and entertainment, according to WAM.

Khalid Jassim Al Midfa, Chairman of SIMSC, expressed gratitude to the festival’s partners, including government and private entities, for their support in making the event successful. He also honoured these organisations for their contributions during the festival.

The event saw participation from over 40 government and private entities, which provided a variety of cultural, historical, and recreational activities. Key figures such as Abdullah Suleiman Al Kabouri Al from the Sharjah Districts Affairs Department, Ahmed Issa Al Hosani, General Manager of SIMSC, and representatives from Khorfakkan Municipality attended the festival.

Visitors praised the event’s excellent organisation and diverse activities, making it a popular destination for families and individuals alike. Al Midfa described the festival as a standout occasion that showcased Khorfakkan’s rich maritime heritage while enhancing its cultural and historical appeal.

The festival’s success highlights the growing importance of such events in promoting Sharjah’s tourism and cultural heritage.
