The Dubai Government Human Resources (DGHR) Department has officially announced that January 1, 2025, will be a public holiday for government departments in Dubai to celebrate New Year’s Day. Work is scheduled to resume on January 2, 2025, as usual.

However, not all employees will have the day off. Departments and institutions that operate on shift systems or are responsible for public services and facilities are exempted from this holiday. These entities will manage their employees’ schedules based on operational needs to ensure uninterrupted services for the public.

The DGHR extended warm New Year’s wishes to the UAE’s leadership, government, citizens, and residents, expressing hopes for a prosperous and blessed year ahead.
