The Climate Tribe has officially launched Abu Dhabi’s first hub dedicated to sustainable collaboration and impact storytelling. This initiative aims to inspire climate action and was inaugurated with the event ‘The Climate Tribe Live!’ on June 23rd. Established by Her Highness Sheikha Shamma bint Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan in 2023, The Climate Tribe serves as a social enterprise focused on mobilizing the local community through workshops and creative activations throughout the UAE.

Located in a sustainably designed facility, The Climate Tribe Hub is intended to function as both a community-driven mission and a business that assists brands and organizations in showcasing their sustainability efforts. The inaugural event highlighted the organization’s journey and its impact, featuring a short film that captivated the audience. Her Highness Sheikha Shamma bint Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, who is the President & CEO of The Climate Tribe, expressed her vision for the organization, emphasizing the importance of storytelling and creativity in driving climate action.
“The Climate Tribe began with a vision to inspire climate action through storytelling, creativity, and shared purpose,” stated Her Highness Sheikha Shamma. She also noted that the establishment of the Hub aligns with the UAE’s national vision, particularly as 2025 has been designated as the Year of Community in the UAE. She highlighted the Hub’s potential to foster deeper conversations and tangible solutions in the collective mission towards climate action.
The event also presented The Climate Tribe Hub’s innovative design, which was developed in collaboration with local artisans and designers. This sustainable space was crafted using low-impact, locally sourced materials, showcasing the creative and cultural heritage of the UAE. Notable contributors to the project included Alchemy, Alghadeer Emirati Crafts, and Tashkeel, among others.
More than just a co-working venue, the Hub is designed as a co-creation space that encourages community connections and ideation for climate action. Following a mini-documentary on the Hub’s development, leadership figures from The Climate Tribe, including Executive Director Hind Al Ghseen and Editor-in-Chief Manal Shaikh, provided insights into the alignment of the design process with the organization’s mission.
The session concluded with a panel discussion featuring participants from various workshops who shared their experiences within the movement. They discussed the personal stories behind each project and the positive environmental impacts, reinforcing the Hub’s role as a collaborative space for driving change.
Reflecting on the Hub’s launch, Hind Al Ghseen noted, “The Climate Tribe Hub is a true reflection of our values – built in collaboration with local artisans, designers, and sustainability experts.” She emphasized that the Hub celebrates Emirati heritage and community craftsmanship, symbolizing what can be achieved through the fusion of creativity and purpose.
Since its inception, The Climate Tribe has engaged over 2 200 community members and has facilitated more than 70 initiatives that have led to the planting of 921 trees and the recycling of 8 656 kilograms of waste. The launch of The Climate Tribe Hub signifies a transformative step for the movement, providing a physical space to enhance collaboration, creativity, and action towards a sustainable future in the UAE.
