Dr. Maysoon Al Karam, Chief Medical Officer at Yas Clinic – Khalifa City, emphasized the importance of this technology, stating that “Robotic surgery is no longer the future of medicine – it’s our advanced reality today.” She highlighted that this technology allows for unprecedented precision while reducing risks and improving patient outcomes, even in complex cases.

The robotic system enables surgeons to operate through an intelligent console, with the medical navigation system providing precise guidance for surgical instruments inside the patient’s body. This approach minimizes invasive intervention, lowers the risk of complications, and speeds up recovery times.

Professor Amr El-Shawarbi, a Consultant Neurosurgeon who specializes in robotic surgery, noted a notable increase in brain and spine surgeries. He mentioned that the exceptional precision of this system enhances recovery chances for patients while ensuring greater safety.

The introduction of these surgical procedures aligns with Yas Clinic’s vision to integrate the latest medical technologies across its services, including neurosurgery, orthopaedics, and general surgery. The clinic’s medical team has undergone extensive international training to maintain the highest global standards.

Yas Clinic has successfully completed two complex spinal surgeries on patients in their fifties and sixties suffering from lumbar spinal stenosis and disc herniation, conditions that had been causing nerve compression, leg pain, and mobility issues.

The initial results of these surgeries have shown significant improvements in accuracy, reduced hospital stays, less pain, and quicker returns to normal activities for patients.
