Dubai welcomed 8.68 million international tourists in the first five months of 2025, from January through May. This figure reflects a 7% increase compared to the same period in 2024, which registered 8.12 million visitors. The latest statistics were released in the Tourism Performance Report January – May 2025 by the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET).

In May alone, Dubai attracted 1.53 million international visitors. The report highlighted the regional contributions to this influx, with South Asia ranking third at 1.242 million tourists, accounting for 14% of the total. The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region followed closely with 1.275 million visitors, representing 15% of the overall count.

The Middle East and North Africa contributed 989 000 visitors, making up 11% of the total, while Northeast and Southeast Asia added 771 000 tourists, or 9%. Additionally, the Americas accounted for 601 000 visitors, which is 7% of the total arrivals, and Africa brought in 346,000 tourists, representing 4%. Australia contributed 141 000 visitors, about 2% of Dubai’s international arrivals during this period.

As of the end of May 2025, Dubai’s hotel sector included 825 establishments offering a total of 153 356 rooms. This shows an increase from the 822 hotels with 15 202 rooms available at the end of May 2024. The average hotel occupancy rate for the first five months of 2025 was 83%, up from 81% during the same period last year.

The report also noted that the total number of occupied room nights reached 19.09 million, which is a 4% increase from the 18.34 million recorded in the same time frame in 2024. Guests stayed an average of 3.8 nights per visit, and the average daily room rate increased to AED620, a rise of 5% from AED590 in 2024. Furthermore, revenue per available room saw a 7% boost, reaching AED513 compared to AED478 in the same period last year.
