Egypt Aims to Empower 25% of Workforce with AI Tools

The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology in Egypt has announced its goal to enable over 25% of the workforce to utilize artificial intelligence (AI) tools within the next five years. This initiative is part of a broader effort to help various institutions leverage AI’s capabilities to enhance their operational objectives.

As part of this plan, the ministry aims to train more than 30 000 specialists in AI and support 250 startups in the field over the same period. The announcement was made during the closing events of the second edition of the Middle East and North Africa Data Science and Artificial Intelligence Conference 2025, a significant technological event in Egypt that brings together the AI and data science community.

Dr. Amr Talaat, the Minister of Communications and Information Technology, highlighted the conference’s role in promoting innovation and collaboration through in-depth discussions on 25 topics. These topics include exploring the latest trends and innovations in AI and data science, covering areas such as AI developments, big data analytics, natural language processing, generative AI, data visualization, machine learning model deployment, data engineering, computer vision, and robotics.
