The Dubai Data and Statistics Establishment has announced a partnership with BlueGen.ai to improve the accuracy of labor force surveys through the use of synthetic data and artificial intelligence. This collaboration is part of Dubai’s strategic vision to leverage innovative technologies in data analysis, aiming to enhance the quality of economic and social statistics.

Synthetic data provides a unique solution by creating precise AI models while preserving data privacy. It facilitates the development of advanced analytical tools capable of simulating real-world data patterns without exposing original information to security risks or breaching regulatory standards. This initiative supports the broader goal of Digital Dubai, which is focused on integrating cutting-edge AI technologies into decision-making processes.
Younus Al Nasser, CEO of the Dubai Data and Statistics Establishment, emphasized the crucial role of data in decision-making and development. He noted that balancing innovation with governance, particularly regarding privacy, is a significant challenge. Al Nasser highlighted that synthetic data serves as a practical solution to maximize data value and derive meaningful insights, aligning with the strategy to digitize life in Dubai and establish the city as a leader in digital transformation.
Nusaiba Al Marzooqi, Manager of Prices and Cost of Living Statistics, pointed out that synthetic data represents a significant advancement in statistics. This innovation allows for the creation of realistic datasets while protecting privacy, thus enhancing the accuracy and reliability of analytical models. She explained that synthetic data reflects market patterns and economic changes, thereby improving predictive accuracy and supporting data-driven decision-making.
The project has produced a comprehensive analytical report detailing the experimental study’s findings. This report demonstrates the effectiveness of generative models of synthetic data in accurately representing labor market data, such as unemployment rates across various demographics, without sacrificing the integrity of statistical indicators. It also outlines challenges faced during the study, innovative solutions implemented, and recommendations for future use of synthetic data in official statistics.
These findings are expected to aid the development of new methodologies that align with Dubai’s ambition to become the global capital of digital data. The report enhances the understanding of how synthetic data can bolster official statistics while ensuring accuracy and transparency for decision-makers and the public.
Looking ahead, the Dubai Data and Statistics Establishment and BlueGen.ai plan to explore opportunities for broader application of these methodologies. This effort aims to incorporate synthetic data into decision-making processes and enhance the analysis of future statistical data in Dubai.
