UAE Opens Applications for 10-Year Blue Residency Visa

The UAE has officially opened applications for its 10-year Blue Residency Visa, aimed at attracting sustainability and environmental experts from around the world. First announced in May 2024, this initiative is designed to bring in individuals who can contribute to the UAE’s environmental, economic, and social development.

UAE Opens Applications for 10-Year Blue Residency Visa

Applications can be submitted through the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) via its online platform: smartservices.icp.gov.ae. The visa targets exceptional talents in fields like sustainability, climate change, and energy, including scientists, researchers, inventors, and financial supporters of environmental initiatives.

Eligible individuals include prominent members of international organisations focused on the environment, award winners in sustainability, and those holding advanced degrees in environmental sciences. Applicants must provide documents proving their achievements, a valid passport, and a recent photograph.

The application process involves two key steps. First, candidates must apply for nomination or be nominated by a UAE authority. This step costs Dh350. Once approved, they can proceed to submit their visa application, including detailed personal information and required documents, followed by payment of the visa service fee.

For those living outside the UAE, a six-month multiple-entry visa, costing Dh1,250, is available to complete the necessary procedures.

The Blue Residency Visa reflects the UAE’s commitment to sustainability and its efforts to attract global experts who can help drive environmental progress.
