The conference is expected to attract international organisations, government authorities, and leading civil aviation companies. It is organised in collaboration with the General Civil Aviation Authority and the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi.
The main goal of the agreement is to enhance collaboration between the Integrated Transport Centre and the Emirates Aviation Association within a framework that aligns with both entities’ strategic plans, while respecting their individual mandates and responsibilities. The IFATCA conference is a prominent event in the aviation sector, bringing together global experts to discuss advancements in air traffic control (ATC) and strategies for improving safety and efficiency in air navigation.
Dr. Saif Sultan Al Nasri, Acting Undersecretary of the Department of Municipalities and Transport, highlighted that this collaboration marks a key milestone in boosting the UAE’s stature as a leader in civil aviation. By hosting the IFATCA 2025 conference, the UAE aims to advance air traffic management and strengthen relationships among international aviation experts, ensuring the ongoing development and safety of global air navigation systems.
The agreement also aims to enhance IFATCA’s connections with relevant UAE civil aviation entities and promote the profession of air traffic controllers. There will be opportunities for Emirati controllers to engage in discussions and decision-making on air traffic management at both regional and international levels, facilitating the exchange of knowledge and best practices in ATC operations.
The conference will include specialized panel discussions, workshops, and presentations by leading international aviation experts. This event comes at a time when the UAE is making significant strides in aviation and transport infrastructure, with the aviation sector experiencing a 10% increase in the past two years. This growth underscores the UAE’s commitment to maintaining its leadership position in the global civil aviation industry.
IFATCA represents over 130 professional air traffic controller associations worldwide, with more than 50,000 members. The organization aims to unify these associations and collaborates closely with both national and international aviation authorities.
