His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, visited the Expo 2025 Osaka in Japan on Friday. During his visit, Sheikh Mohammed toured the UAE pavilion, which showcases the nation’s cultural and technological advancements.

In a post on the social media platform X, Sheikh Mohammed expressed his delight in visiting the Expo, stating, “I was delighted today to visit Expo 2025 Osaka in Japan. I was even more delighted to visit the UAE Pavilion at the Expo.” He admired the pavilion’s design, which draws inspiration from the palm tree and reflects a new concept of ‘Al Areesh,’ representing ancient houses made from palm fronds and trunks. He noted that the pavilion highlights the UAE’s initiatives in space, healthcare, and sustainability, signifying a blend of historical authenticity and a vision for the future.
The UAE pavilion, themed “Earth to Ether,” narrates the inspiring story of a nation that has turned ambitious dreams into reality. It presents a rich narrative combining deep-rooted cultural heritage with aspirations in space exploration, sustainability efforts, and healthcare innovations.
Visitors to the pavilion can experience a unique sensory journey through three engaging stations. These areas illuminate the remarkable successes of Emirati talents and global scientists in vital sectors. From pioneers in space to leaders in healthcare and sustainability, the pavilion showcases how these individuals draw inspiration from their heritage to contribute to a better future.
Sheikh Mohammed also extended his gratitude to the individuals responsible for the pavilion, particularly Sheikha Mariam Bint Mohamed Bin Zayed, who played a key role in its design and development. He commended her efforts in presenting the UAE to the world with excellence.
