ADRA was established following a resolution from the Abu Dhabi Executive Council. It will oversee business registration, coordinate licensing processes, and ensure adherence to anti-money laundering (AML) laws and other regulations targeting suspicious activities.

One of ADRA’s key features includes a unified database consolidating details of economic establishments in the emirate’s mainland and its non-financial free zones. This database will simplify the management of the commercial registry and improve regulatory oversight.

Additionally, ADRA plans to introduce new types of business licenses, designed to attract talent, investors, and entrepreneurs. These measures aim to foster a supportive business ecosystem and boost investment in Abu Dhabi’s economy.

His Excellency Ahmed Jasim Al Zaabi, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED), highlighted that ADRA will play a vital role in supporting Abu Dhabi’s economic diversification and growth. Speaking to ARN News, he said the authority will offer “streamlined procedures, expert guidance, and access to a thriving business ecosystem.”

This initiative underscores Abu Dhabi’s commitment to strengthening its position as a global business hub.
