Faraday Future to Launch First Regional Facility in Ras Al Khaimah with Dh30 Million Investment

Faraday Future (FF), a California-based global AI electric vehicle manufacturer, is set to establish its first operational base in the Middle East located in Ras Al Khaimah. The new facility will be situated in Al Hamra within the Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone (RAKEZ) and will cover an area of approximately 108 000 square feet, featuring an office, an engineering workshop, and an operational hub.

The project is backed by an initial investment of Dh30 million and is projected to create 200 direct jobs in fields such as engineering, logistics, operations, and customer support. This step is part of FF’s strategic global expansion, which aims to significantly contribute to regional electric vehicle transformation and bolster Ras Al Khaimah’s status as a hub for advanced, sustainable mobility solutions.

The expansion will be led by Faraday X (FX), FF’s mass-market brand dedicated to delivering AI electric vehicles (AIEVs) with cutting-edge luxury technology, making intelligent electric mobility accessible to a broader audience. The new facility is intended to serve as a strategic base to support operations throughout the GCC countries, with plans to extend into Europe and North Africa.

“This facility represents a tangible start for both FF and FX in the region,” stated Matthias Aydt, Global Co-CEO of Faraday Future. Aydt emphasized that Ras Al Khaimah provides the necessary infrastructure and leadership to support their vision of creating a sustainable mobility ecosystem.

RAKEZ has been instrumental in facilitating Faraday Future’s entry into the region by offering comprehensive support in infrastructure setup, regulatory processes, and policy facilitation. Ramy Jallad, CEO of RAKEZ Group, remarked that the arrival of Faraday Future marks a significant milestone in the region’s mobility landscape, bringing forward a vision that could redefine intelligent transportation.

As the UAE aims to have 50 percent of all new cars sold be electric or hybrid by 2050, supported by government incentives like free charging stations and reduced registration fees, the timing of this project aligns perfectly with national goals. The construction is currently underway, with operations expected to begin in the second half of 2025. In the future, FF plans to enhance its regional research and development capabilities and establish a localized supply chain ecosystem centered in Ras Al Khaimah.
