A recent survey has shown that while many residents of the UAE are comfortable with AI-generated content, a significant majority demand transparency regarding its use. The YouGov report indicates that the UAE is regarded as one of the most AI-forward societies globally, with its residents being among the most willing to interact with AI-generated influencers compared to other markets.

According to the survey, more than half of UAE residents accept AI-generated media content. Specifically, 55% expressed comfort with the use of generative AI for written articles. This acceptance extends to other formats as well, with 54% comfortable with AI-generated video content and 53% with audio news.
Interestingly, 33% of respondents stated they trust AI-generated news more than news produced by humans, while an additional 29% trust both equally. This results in a total of 62% who regard AI-generated news as trustworthy as, or even more so than, traditional news.
However, the survey also highlighted a strong call for transparency, with 76% of UAE participants asserting the importance of disclosing when generative AI is utilized in content creation. Many residents, about 44%, feel optimistic or excited about the growing role of AI in their daily lives over the next decade. Nonetheless, they express caution over the potential loss of the human touch, which emerged as a primary concern in the survey.
Despite the high levels of engagement and trust in AI-generated content, the data underscores a clear demand for stricter oversight and transparent practices. As generative AI continues to influence journalism, entertainment, and social media in the UAE, the report emphasizes that balancing innovation with ethical responsibility will be crucial.
