The Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park (SRTIP) has entered into three significant memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with key stakeholders in the healthcare sector, including Emirates Health Services (EHS), Sharjah Health Authority (SHA), and BEEAH Group. This initiative aims to strengthen Sharjah’s position as a hub for healthcare research and innovation.

The signing ceremony was held in the presence of Her Excellency Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairperson and President of SRTIP. This event marks a critical step in the emirate’s strategy to advance medical innovation in the region. The MoUs, designed to promote a collaborative healthcare ecosystem, focus on research-driven approaches to healthcare challenges.
The first MoU formalizes a partnership with Emirates Health Services, signed by its Director General, H.E. Dr. Yousif Mohammad Al Serkal. This agreement establishes a framework for joint ventures in innovation, research translation, and clinical application, facilitating the co-development of prototypes and the acceleration of new health technologies. EHS will also receive targeted support for its internal innovation lab, enhancing its connection to SRTIP’s network of healthcare startups.
Dr. Al Serkal expressed that the partnership with SRTIP is a strategic move to integrate advanced innovation into the healthcare ecosystem, aiming to enhance research and patient-centered care by promoting cooperation between public and private sectors.
The second MoU with the Sharjah Health Authority aims to set up a clinical research center and a regulatory sandbox for testing new medical technologies. Signed by H.E. Dr. Abdulaziz Al Muhairi, Chairman of SHA, this agreement is focused on creating the necessary infrastructure for high-quality clinical studies in Sharjah. The collaboration will support the development of advanced diagnostic and treatment tools through joint medical conferences.
Dr. Al Muhairi emphasized the pride of SHA in partnering with SRTIP to cultivate healthcare research and development, aligning this effort with the authority’s mission to place Sharjah at the forefront of clinical research and innovative treatment solutions.
The third MoU, signed by H.E. Khaled Al Huraimel, Group CEO and Vice Chairman of BEEAH, highlights the connection between sustainability and healthcare innovation. This agreement aims to establish an R&D hub focused on digital health technologies and sustainable medical practices. The collaboration will integrate AI-driven healthcare solutions and telemedicine into the innovation ecosystem, while also engaging academic institutions to mobilize funding for promising innovations.
Al Huraimel noted that the partnership with SRTIP aligns with BEEAH’s commitment to sustainability and innovative solutions in healthcare, aiming to create a healthier and more resilient future for communities.
Together, these MoUs represent a significant advancement for Sharjah’s ambition to lead in health sciences research and biotechnology development. Dr. Asma Mahmoud Fikri, Director of Government and Corporate Partnerships at SRTIP, highlighted the transformative potential of these collaborations for the healthcare sector.
“This initiative marks the beginning of a new chapter in healthcare innovation in Sharjah,” stated Dr. Fikri, underscoring the importance of these partnerships in shaping a future centered on excellence and sustainability in healthcare.
With these strategic alliances, SRTIP is set to foster a new era of healthcare R&D and innovation, positioning Sharjah at the forefront of advancements in the health sector.
