Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi (SUAD) has announced a new training program titled “Generative AI: Introduction and Prompt Engineering for Professionals,” aimed at helping professionals enhance their skills in the evolving digital landscape. This course, developed by the university’s Sorbonne Center for Artificial Intelligence (SCAI), will take place on May 20th, and registration is now open to the public.

The short course is designed to provide participants with essential skills in generative AI and prompt engineering, two critical areas impacting today’s workplaces. The program will introduce attendees to large language models and practical techniques to leverage AI in their daily professional tasks. Dr. Xavier Fresquet, the Deputy Director at SCAI, will lead the workshop, blending theoretical insights with hands-on demonstrations to illustrate how generative AI can improve productivity in various fields including email management and customer service.

Dr. Fresquet emphasized that participants would learn how to effectively utilize generative AI to enhance their daily work in just a few hours, regardless of their technical background. The training consists of three modules: the first covers foundational concepts of generative AI, the second delves into prompt engineering techniques, and the third focuses on advanced business applications and ethics in AI usage.

Participants will engage in interactive exercises and analyze real-world case studies, gaining access to AI toolkits and additional learning resources. By the end of the course, they will be equipped to integrate AI tools into their workflows and navigate the ethical implications of AI in professional settings.

Professor Nathalie Martial-Braz, Chancellor of Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi, stated that the program reflects the university’s commitment to lifelong learning and skill development, supporting the UAE’s broader vision of becoming a leader in artificial intelligence and innovation.

No prior technical experience is needed for enrollment, making the program suitable for professionals in education, business, finance, administration, IT, and data management. This three-hour training will be conducted in English, from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM, with a course fee of AED 1000. Participants will receive a certificate of completion and access to course materials and supplementary resources.
