During the meeting, His Highness welcomed Jean-Noël Barrot and underscored the deep historical connections shared between the two nations. The ministers also addressed significant developments in the region, along with updates on both regional and international matters, as reported by the national news agency WAM.

This meeting follows a conversation that President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan had with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace in Paris a few months prior. Their discussions focused on expanding bilateral cooperation, especially in economic, investment, and cultural sectors. They also explored opportunities for deeper collaboration in climate action, energy, advanced technology, artificial intelligence, and other areas that align with their mutual vision for sustainable development and prosperity.

Since 2022, the UAE and France have maintained a Comprehensive Strategic Energy Partnership and initiated the UAE-France Bilateral Climate Investment Platform in 2024, demonstrating their commitment to working together on these pressing issues.
