Morocco is set to construct a new civilian airport in the North-western Atlantic port city of Casablanca as part of an extensive national logistics expansion program. This announcement was made by the Arab country’s Transport Minister, Abdul Samad Qayuh.

The projected cost for the new airport is nearly 28 billion Moroccan dirhams, which is equivalent to approximately $3 billion. The airport will be connected to a new road network and high-speed trains that are being developed for the 2030 World Cup games.
Qayuh indicated that the airport project aims to accommodate the planned expansion of national airlines, which will include new long-distance destinations and an increase in the fleet size to over 100 aircraft by the end of this decade. Additionally, there will be expansions at airports in Rabat and other cities in preparation for the upcoming 2030 games.
