The American University of Sharjah (AUS) recently hosted the third edition of the UAE Robotics Competition, which was organized in collaboration with Dubai Future Labs, Khalifa University, and the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) Dubai. The event took place on April 11, 2025, and aimed to foster innovation in robotics.

A total of 111 students participated in the competition, representing 23 teams from 11 universities. These teams focused on developing autonomous robotic solutions that enhance environmental sustainability, with a particular emphasis on waste management.
The competition featured several challenges, with Team Armpicks from Middlesex University winning the Waste Sorting Challenge. Team Synergy from Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Dubai Campus excelled in the Autonomous Ground Cleaning Challenge, while SeaCat from Amity University Dubai triumphed in the Water Surface Cleaning Challenge.
Khalifa Al Qama, the Executive Director of Dubai Future Labs, an initiative under Dubai Future Foundation, emphasized that the competition serves as an annual platform to showcase the UAE’s promising talent in robotics. He remarked that the event plays a vital role in inspiring young minds to develop their skills and explore future technologies.
