The ISPOR UAE Chapter and AbbVie, a global biopharmaceutical company, have announced their intent to collaborate on improving healthcare outcomes in the UAE. This announcement was made during the Abu Dhabi Global Health Week, where the two organizations signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) in the presence of senior leaders from both ISPOR UAE Chapter and AbbVie Gulf.

The LOI represents a shared commitment to work together in important areas such as Health Technology Assessment (HTA), policy development, and research initiatives. This partnership aims to leverage the ISPOR UAE Chapter’s broad network and expertise in health economics and outcomes research (HEOR), alongside AbbVie’s scientific knowledge, to strengthen the evidence-based healthcare framework in the UAE.
Prof. Nadia Al Mazrouei, President of the ISPOR UAE Chapter, highlighted the organization’s dedication to promoting excellence in health economics. She expressed optimism about the collaboration, noting that it would connect researchers, policymakers, and healthcare professionals with industry expertise. The partnership is expected to lead to impactful research and the development of evidence-based healthcare policies that will benefit patients in the UAE.
Elhussein Abdellatif, General Manager for AbbVie Gulf, affirmed the company’s commitment to enhancing healthcare standards and patient lives. He acknowledged the critical role of Health Technology Assessment (HTA) and health policy in ensuring access to essential therapies. Abdellatif stated that the collaboration with ISPOR UAE Chapter offers an opportunity to combine expertise and work towards a sustainable, patient-centered healthcare system in the UAE.
