The DMT detailed its key achievements for the year, emphasizing its commitment to comprehensive development. The department delivered a range of strategic projects aimed at enhancing the quality of life for all community members, supported by an overall budget that exceeds Dh75 billion.

In addition to these investments, DMT has solidified its role as a crucial driver of growth and safety in the emirate. Abu Dhabi was recognized as the most livable city in the MENA region by the Economist Intelligence Unit’s Global Liveability Index. It also ranked as one of the safest cities worldwide according to Numbeo’s Crime and Safety Indices, and was noted as one of the top ten smartest cities globally by the International Institute for Management Development.

Mohamed Ali Al Shorafa, Chairman of DMT, expressed that the ambitious Dh75 billion budget reflects a vision focused on enhancing infrastructure, improving services, and promoting urban development throughout the emirate. He emphasized that these investments are vital for building a robust foundation for the future and align with the leadership’s goals of elevating the quality of life and achieving environmental sustainability.

The DMT allocated Dh3.4 billion specifically for road projects, which include the expansion of the Helio-Abu Al Abiyad Road in the Al Dhafra Region. A notable double-bridge project, worth Dh315 million, significantly reduced average morning peak-hour delays by up to 80% on Abu Dhabi’s Al Khaleej Al Arabi Street.
