Proposed Underwater Rail Link to Connect Mumbai and Dubai in Just Two Hours

A new project is in the works to create a 2,000-kilometer underwater rail link between Mumbai and Dubai, which aims to drastically reduce travel time to just two hours. The proposed rail system will allow trains to operate at speeds between 600 and 1,000 kilometers per hour, potentially transforming transportation between India and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

This ambitious project promises to enhance trade relations between the two nations by facilitating quicker transport of goods, including commodities like crude oil. The estimated investment for this mega project will be in the billions of dollars, highlighting the scale and significance of the initiative.

Currently, discussions are ongoing regarding the project, which has been proposed by the National Advisor Bureau Limited of UAE. Once approved, efforts will focus on completing the underwater rail link by 2030, providing an innovative alternative to air travel and fostering greater economic collaboration between India and the UAE.
