In a written response to a question from Federal National Council member Dr. Adnan Hamad Al Hammadi during a session, Al Mazrouei stated that the ministry had requested the inclusion of this topic in the annual meetings of the UAE government. This move aims to rally efforts and enhance coordination with local entities. Subsequently, the ministry was tasked with leading a team comprising local authorities and the Ministry of Interior to study the matter and present solutions to the esteemed Cabinet through coordinated efforts.

The proposed solutions include updating existing policies and regulations concerning vehicle acquisition and licensing to curb the rate of unnatural vehicle growth, which has surpassed 8% compared to the global average of 2% per year. Additionally, the plans involve enhancing existing road networks linking the emirates through national projects at both local and federal levels. The ministry is also considering the establishment of new road links between the emirates that meet the highest standards and capacity. Furthermore, they are exploring ways to strengthen public transport projects and integrate them across the emirates, while introducing new public transportation models to encourage reduced reliance on private vehicles.

Regarding the inquiry about the projects mentioned in the parliamentary question concerning traffic congestion, Al Mazrouei confirmed that development work on the main federal corridors commenced in 2024 and is currently ongoing.
