Hadayieq Company has announced plans for the grand reopening of Giza Zoo and Orman Garden in September 2025 following a significant renovation project. The redevelopment, which was showcased at ITB Berlin, aims to reposition these historic attractions as premier global destinations for adventure and exploration.

To achieve this ambitious goal, Hadayieq is collaborating with leading international consultants and experts. Their focus will be on ensuring exceptional standards in animal care, conserving heritage, and maintaining the botanical garden. The renovations are set to enhance the visitor experience while preserving the historical essence of the locations.
Mohamed Kamel, Chairperson of Hadayieq, emphasized that this project marks a transformative step in Egypt’s entertainment and tourism sector. He stated, “This redevelopment seamlessly blends innovation and modernity with a rich historical legacy. Our vision is to elevate Giza Zoo and Orman Garden into world-class attractions that offer an immersive experience combining entertainment, education, and environmental conservation.”
The plans include modernizing Giza Zoo while keeping its historic landmarks intact. An underground tunnel will connect the zoo and Orman Garden, facilitating easy access for visitors. New attractions will feature live sea lion, bird, and elephant shows, an underwater viewing area for hippos, a glass-domed meerkat exhibit, and an interactive ring-tailed lemur experience. Additionally, visitors will have opportunities for animal feeding sessions and guided tours.
For those seeking a unique experience, Giza Zoo will introduce a Safari Glamping option, providing luxury accommodations in a natural setting. A Zoo Antique Bazaar will offer handcrafted souvenirs, along with new restaurants and cafés to enhance the overall visitor experience.
Giza Zoo covers 112 feddans and is home to around 3,000 historic trees, rare plant species, and 186 different species of mammals, birds, and reptiles. Established during the reign of Khedive Ismail, it holds the title of Africa’s first zoo, the oldest in the Middle East, and the third oldest globally.
The revitalized Giza Zoo and Orman Garden are anticipated to create a dynamic blend of history, nature, and entertainment, reaffirming their status as essential attractions on the international tourism map.
