Dubai to Implement Variable Parking Fees Starting April 2025

Parkin, the largest operator of paid public parking facilities in Dubai, has announced that a new variable pricing tariff will be introduced in early April 2025. This change will affect parking across the emirate, as the company aims to better manage public parking demand.

Public parking in Dubai is categorized into four tariff zones: A, B, C, and D, which include both premium and standard parking options for on-street and off-street facilities. According to Parkin, peak pricing for standard parking spaces in these zones will apply during six of the 14 chargeable hours each day. Specifically, during peak hours from 8 AM to 10 AM and 4 PM to 8 PM, premium parking will be charged at Dh6 per hour across all public parking zones, excluding public holidays.

During off-peak hours from 10 AM to 4 PM and 8 PM to 10 PM, the current pricing structure will remain unchanged. Additionally, Zones B and D will still offer a daily rate option, with premium parking costing Dh40 in Zone B and Dh30 in Zone D.

The parking chargeable hours will also undergo changes during Ramadan, with two periods from Monday to Saturday: the first from 8 AM to 6 PM and the second from 8 PM to midnight. Notably, parking will be free between 6 PM and 8 PM on weekdays and all day on Sundays throughout Ramadan. Multi-level parking buildings will continue to operate 24/7 to accommodate users.

Parkin is currently engaged in discussions with the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) to finalize details regarding the new variable pricing tariff. The company first announced plans to increase tariffs in premium parking areas in November of the previous year.

Eng. Mohamed Abdulla Al Ali, CEO of Parkin, stated that the locations for premium parking spaces were chosen based on three criteria: accessibility via public transport, high parking occupancy during peak times, and areas with significant density and commercial activity. He noted that approximately 35 percent of Parkin’s public parking portfolio, which consists of 184,000 spaces, will qualify as premium parking areas.
