Etihad Airways’ Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer, Arik De, said that talks are currently going on to create a strategic relationship that will strengthen their current codeshare and frequent flyer program. This plan will help both airlines grow into new markets, and an Air Europa plane could even be used for a wet lease business that flies between Madrid and Abu Dhabi. He made it clear that the agreement is meant to help customers of both airlines by making travel easier and giving them access to more networks, especially Air Europa’s large Latin American network.

The general manager of Air Europa, Richard Clark, was happy with the partnership’s growth and said it would give their customers more options. With the new flights between Madrid-Barajas and Abu Dhabi, it will be easier to get to the Middle East, Asia, and the Americas through Europe, and the quality of service will stay good.
