Gulfood 2025 Welcomes 5,500 Exhibitors from 129 Countries

The 30th edition of Gulfood, recognized as the world’s largest annual food and beverage trade show, is anticipated to be its most expansive yet. This year, the event is set to feature participation from 5,500 exhibitors representing 129 countries, including first-time participants from Kosovo, Zambia, Mauritius, and Madagascar. Taking place at the Dubai World Trade Centre, the exhibition will showcase over one million products across 24 halls, covering a total exhibition space of 1.3 million square feet.

The theme for this year’s event is “The Next Frontier in Food,” which emphasizes the evolution of global food systems, sustainability, and innovative practices. According to Mark Napier, Vice President of Portfolio Growth Food & Hospitality at the Exhibitions Department of Dubai World Trade Centre, the key discussions will focus on expanding international trade, adapting to changing investment strategies, utilizing technology and artificial intelligence in supply chains, and addressing environmental challenges in agriculture.

For the first time, Gulfood will host the Food500 Summit, which is a high-profile gathering of CEOs, policymakers, government officials, and industry leaders. Napier highlighted that the summit aims to address pressing challenges in the industry, including international trade, investment strategies, technological advancements, and global food security, with the goal of delivering actionable solutions for the future of the sector.

Adding to the event’s appeal, renowned chef Alain Ducasse will make his debut at the Gulfood Top Table, accompanied by an elite group of chefs collectively holding 50 Michelin stars. This initiative will explore the future of culinary arts, focusing on innovative techniques, ingredient advancements, and new flavor profiles. Furthermore, the Dubai World Cuisine series will showcase Dubai’s top-rated restaurants through exclusive fine dining collaborations, including a special 8-hands experience with Chef Ducasse.

Gulfood 2025 is also introducing several initiatives aimed at enhancing the experience for both industry professionals and food enthusiasts. A notable addition is Gulfood After Hours, which extends the event beyond the exhibition halls, allowing attendees to explore Dubai’s vibrant dining scene. More than 40 partner restaurants in the city, such as Bombay Borough, Carna, and Black Tap, will offer special dining experiences for Gulfood visitors who present their event tickets.

Another significant feature is the Innovation Awards, which will acknowledge industry pioneers who have excelled in new product development. Napier stated that the awards will serve as a platform for companies to celebrate their innovations that are shaping the future of the industry. Additionally, the YouthX Young Chef Challenge will spotlight young culinary talent, offering Dh100,000 in prizes and an internship opportunity at a Michelin-starred restaurant in Europe.

Gulfood has played a crucial role in establishing Dubai and the UAE as a global food hub, enhancing trade connections, and promoting food security initiatives. Napier noted that the previous edition of Gulfood secured over $15 billion in trade deals, showcasing its significant impact on global food and beverage trade. The event has also encouraged regional investment, enhancing the competitiveness of the food and beverage sector in the GCC, making it an attractive market for global food brands and startups.

With groundbreaking culinary showcases and exclusive networking opportunities, Gulfood 2025 promises an unparalleled experience for industry professionals and food enthusiasts alike. The event runs until February 21.
