The University of Sharjah will conduct the 5th Forum for Women in Research on Thursday, February 20, 2025. This event is held under the patronage of Sheikh Sultan Bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University of Sharjah (UoS). The forum is themed “QUWA: Together Innovating to Shape the Future” and aims to support women in research at local, regional, and international levels, showcasing inspiring experiences from female researchers.

The forum will encompass two days of interactive sessions and panel discussions, with a focus on key topics like sustainable innovation and bridging the gap between research and practical solutions. Distinguished speakers from both the UAE and international arenas will participate, sharing valuable insights and expertise.
In addition to the sessions, there will be a poster exhibition highlighting the achievements of women in research. During the forum, the winners of the Best Research Proposal will be announced, with over 297 research papers submitted from 260 universities globally. More than 40 grants will be awarded to exceptional female researchers across four categories that address significant topics and challenges in various fields, including health sciences, biomedical engineering, technology, law, Islamic studies, fine arts and design, humanities, social sciences, communication, and business administration.
The event is organized with support from several partners, including Namaa Women Advancement Establishment as the Strategic Partner, Emirates Global Aluminium as the Industry Partner, and Khorfakkan University as the Academic Partner. Golden partners include the Sharjah Electricity, Water & Gas Authority (SEWA), Emirates NBD Group, and the Technology Innovation Institute (TII). The Energy Partner is the Sharjah National Oil Corporation (SNOC), and the Entrepreneurship Partner is the Sharjah Entrepreneurship Center “Sheraa,” along with over 150 community partners.
Earlier, Sheikh Sultan Bin Ahmed Bin Sultan Al Qasimi witnessed the signing of a cooperation agreement between the University of Sharjah (UOS) and Sharjah Media City (Shams) on Wednesday. This agreement aims to support and enhance the “Master of Science in Media Leadership and Digital Innovation” program, launched in collaboration with the University of Sharjah, Shams, and the University of Barcelona.
