The UAE’s Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications Office has established a strategic partnership with Cyprus’s Ministry of Research, Innovation, and Digital Policy. This collaboration aims to strengthen cooperation in the digital sectors, share best practices in artificial intelligence (AI), and enhance the digital economy while improving societal well-being.

Omar Sultan Al Olama, the UAE’s Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications, signed the agreement with Dr. Nikodimos Damianou from Cyprus. Al Olama told that under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the UAE is dedicated to cultivating global partnerships. He noted that these efforts are intended to foster the exchange of expertise and accelerate digital innovation in the field of AI.

Al Olama also pointed out that the international collaborations formed during the World Governments Summit align with the UAE’s objectives of enhancing global cooperation. These partnerships reinforce the UAE’s position as a global innovation hub in AI and contribute to knowledge sharing, acceleration of development, and support for a sustainable future through advanced technology.

Dr. Nikodimos Damianou remarked that the agreement is centered on exchanging best practices regarding AI-related policies and technologies. The partnership aims to identify joint research projects in AI and promote collaboration among academic institutions, such as research institutes and universities focused on this technology. He explained that the goal of the partnership is to facilitate the exchange of best practices in AI policies and technologies.

Moreover, Damianou mentioned that this partnership is designed to develop talent and AI capabilities, while also supporting the creation of AI-related products and services. By encouraging planning and collaboration among academic institutions, the partnership seeks to further enhance the development of AI.
