The Hamriyah Free Zone Authority (HFZA) and the Sharjah Airport International Free Zone (SAIF Zone) recently hosted a high-level delegation from the People’s Republic of China. This meeting aimed to explore ways to enhance bilateral economic and trade cooperation, focusing on increasing investment opportunities for Chinese businesses in the Emirate of Sharjah.

During the discussions, the delegation learned about the competitive advantages of the two free zones, which include advanced infrastructure and cutting-edge logistical solutions. These features enable global businesses, particularly those from China, to expand and pursue growth in regional markets.

His Excellency Saud Salim Al Mazrouei, Director of HFZA and SAIF Zone, welcomed His Excellency Ou Boqian, the Consul General of China in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, along with other key officials from both parties. The meeting underscored the significant business growth opportunities available in Sharjah, attributed to its strategic location and a well-connected transportation network that integrates land, sea, and air travel.

The visiting delegation was informed about the attractive investment prospects and incentives designed for the Chinese business community. Their visit aimed to identify mutual collaboration opportunities, leveraging the commercial and industrial benefits that Sharjah and its free zones provide to investors. These advantages are tailored for companies seeking a stable and supportive environment equipped with comprehensive services and robust infrastructure.

Currently, over 95 Chinese companies are operating within the HFZA and SAIF Zone, with interests spanning diverse sectors, including oil and gas, electronics, heavy machinery, and engineering. His Excellency Saud Salim Al Mazrouei emphasized the growing economic and trade ties between the UAE and China, reflecting the increasing interest of Chinese firms in establishing a presence in Sharjah.

His Excellency Ou Boqian praised Sharjah’s status as a cultural and civilizational hub in the UAE, highlighting its rich heritage and history as a testament to multicultural integration and peaceful coexistence. She noted the strong historical ties between Sharjah and China, which provide a solid foundation for future cooperation across various economic sectors.

Sharjah is recognized for its advanced investment landscape, featuring world-class ports and airports alongside comprehensive services in its free zones. These elements facilitate business operations for Chinese companies, enabling them to thrive in heavy industries, advanced technology, and e-commerce.
