The Arab Parliament is working on modern legislation to speed up digital transformation across Arab countries, with particular attention to artificial intelligence (AI) and its governance. Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Yamahi, Speaker of the Arab Parliament, during the World Government Summit 2025 (WGS) as reported by WAM.

Al Yamahi explained that the parliament aims to address future challenges by enhancing cybersecurity and supporting innovation in the tech industry. He emphasized that stronger regional economic cooperation is key to improving governance, boosting economic performance, and ensuring sustainable development. This approach is intended to help Arab nations take on a more significant role in the global economy.

Highlighting the importance of the WGS, Al Yamahi said the event offers a vital platform for aligning with global advancements, especially in economic sectors. He noted that such gatherings bring together government leaders, private sector representatives, and experts to exchange ideas and explore ways to collaborate effectively.

He also praised the UAE’s leadership in hosting the annual summit, describing it as a reflection of the country’s excellence in future planning and governance.
