The factory’s first phase aims to produce more than 2,000 eye lenses per day, catering to both local and global markets. Advanced technologies, including laser devices and precision measurement systems, are being used to ensure high-quality manufacturing standards. Specialized laboratories at the facility also incorporate artificial intelligence to enhance efficiency and innovation in production.
Saud Salim Al Mazrouei, Director of SAIF Zone Authority, visited the factory alongside other officials, including Kurt Loridan, CEO of Tokai Optical, and Japanese partner Hirokazu Furuzawa. Distinguished guests like Ken Okaniwa, Japan’s Ambassador to the UAE, and Antoine Delcourt, Belgium’s Ambassador to the UAE, also attended the visit.
Al Mazrouei emphasized the significance of Tokai Optical’s presence, highlighting SAIF Zone’s role as a hub for major industries. He noted that Tokai Optical, ranked among the world’s top five medical lens manufacturers, will contribute to the growth of Sharjah’s industrial and medical sectors.
Kurt Loridan stated that the Sharjah facility represents a key step in Tokai Optical’s international expansion. The company is also recognized as one of the top three global leaders in research and development within its field.
This development underscores Sharjah’s appeal as a destination for innovative industries and partnerships, further boosting its economic diversification efforts.
